Equilibrium brings together a Finnish-style sauna and cold plunge for contrast therapy, red light therapy, massage, private blood testing and a curated wellness shop.
We have a toilet inside Equilibrium, with additional toilet facilities available within Groves Yard. We ask that you please do not use the toilets while wearing wet swimwear.
Wednesday–Thursday: 10am–8pm
Friday: 9am–7pm
Saturday–Sunday: 9am–6pm
Monday–Tuesday: Closed
Please note that individual treatment and therapy availability may vary within these opening hours, so we recommend checking current availability when booking online.
Please arrive around 5 minutes before your appointment. This gives you time to check in, use the toilet if needed and start your session without rushing.
For Sauna & Ice sessions, please bring:
For red light therapy and massage, comfortable clothing is ideal.
Contrast therapy involves alternating between heat and cold exposure.
At Equilibrium, this means moving between our sauna and cold plunge or cold shower at a pace that feels comfortable for you. You might repeat the cycle several times during your session, but there is no requirement to use both heat and cold.
Contrast therapy involves alternating between heat and cold exposure.
At Equilibrium, this means moving between our sauna and cold plunge or cold shower at a pace that feels comfortable for you. You might repeat the cycle several times during your session, but there is no requirement to use both heat and cold.
Our Communal Sauna & Ice sessions are deliberately limited to a maximum of four guests, giving everyone more space and creating a calmer experience.
Private sessions can be booked for groups of up to six guests.
The cold plunge is used by one person at a time.
The minimum age for Sauna & Ice is 16. Guests aged 16 or 17 must attend with a responsible adult on a 1:1 basis.
No. Heat and cold exposure are not suitable for everyone.
Please complete Equilibrium’s Health & Safety Waiver before attending. If you have an existing medical condition, are pregnant, take medication that could affect your response to heat or cold, have a history of fainting or are unsure whether contrast therapy is appropriate for you, please seek advice from an appropriately qualified healthcare professional before booking.
During your session, stop immediately and tell an Equilibrium team member if you feel dizzy, faint, unwell or unusually uncomfortable.
Sauna & Ice sessions are 50 minutes, including changing time.
Please make sure you are dried and changed by the end of your booked session so that we can prepare the space for the next guests.
Arrive well hydrated, avoid alcohol and avoid arriving immediately after a heavy meal.
Please shower before entering the sauna.
There are no hot showers on site.
Yes. You do not have to jump straight into the cold plunge.
You can start with the cold shower or a very brief plunge and build confidence gradually. There is no target time you need to achieve.
Focus on keeping your breathing steady and always get out if you feel uncomfortable, dizzy, numb or unwell.
Our team will explain how to use the facilities before you begin.
Absolutely.
You are welcome to enjoy the sauna without using the cold plunge at all. Your session should work for you.
Listen to your body rather than trying to reach a particular time.
As a general guide, people often spend several minutes at a time in the sauna before cooling down. Cold exposure should be kept brief, particularly when you are new to it.
Allow yourself time to acclimatise between hot and cold, and please rinse in the shower after sauna use before entering the cold plunge.
There is no prize for staying in longer. Comfort and safety come first.
There isn’t one right answer.
Some people enjoy finishing cool and refreshed, while others prefer to finish warm and relaxed.
Choose what feels most comfortable for you and allow your body time to return to a comfortable temperature before leaving.
Rehydrate and give your body time to settle.
If you finish cold, allow yourself to warm up gradually. If you feel dizzy, faint or unwell, please tell a member of the Equilibrium team and do not drive until you feel completely well again.
Please read Sauna & Ice Etiquette before attending. It explains swimwear, towels, phones, calm conduct and how to use the space respectfully.
Red light therapy is a non-invasive wellness session using red and near-infrared light.
At Equilibrium, you relax on our full-body red light bed while the light reaches a large area of the body.
It is a light-based wellness treatment rather than a tanning session.
You lie centrally on the bed and relax while the light is delivered.
You may experience some gentle warmth, but the session should feel comfortable. If at any point you feel uncomfortable, please stop the session and let us know.
Appointments last 30 minutes, including changing time.
We recommend spending up to 20 minutes on the bed. Your first session may be shorter while you become familiar with the experience.
Red light therapy is commonly used as part of skin, recovery and general wellbeing routines.
People choose it for different reasons and experiences vary from person to person. At Equilibrium, we offer red light therapy as a wellness service, not as a treatment or cure for a medical condition.
Red light works by reaching the skin directly, so exposing more skin allows more of the body to receive the light.
You may wear underwear, swimwear or nothing, entirely depending on your own comfort level.
The treatment room is completely private and your privacy will always be respected.
Arrive with clean, dry skin where possible and avoid applying heavy creams or oils immediately before your session.
Stay well hydrated before and after your appointment.
There is no single schedule that is right for everyone.
Frequency will depend on your goals, previous use and how you respond to the sessions. Our team can explain the recommended approach for the Equilibrium red light bed when you visit.
More is not necessarily better, so please follow the recommended session duration and guidance.
No. Please complete the relevant Health & Safety information before your first session.
Seek appropriate medical advice before booking if you are pregnant, have a condition that causes sensitivity to light, have an eye condition, have epilepsy or seizures triggered by light, are undergoing cancer treatment, have a significant active skin condition or take medication known to increase sensitivity to light.
If you are unsure, please check with your GP, pharmacist or other appropriately qualified healthcare professional before booking.
Yes. Protective goggles must be worn during your Equilibrium red light session, and you should not stare directly at the light sources.
Goggles are provided.
We offer a range of massage treatments designed around relaxation, recovery and general wellbeing.
Please see our Massage page or booking system for our current treatments, durations and prices.
Appointments range from 30 to 90 minutes, depending on the treatment you choose.
The duration is clearly shown when booking.
Yes. Please complete the Equilibrium Wellness Consultation & Health Screening Form before attending.
This helps your therapist understand any relevant information before your treatment begins.
Before your treatment, your therapist will discuss what you are looking for and any areas you would particularly like them to focus on or avoid.
Your therapist will leave the room while you change and position yourself on the massage couch.
You will be appropriately covered throughout your treatment, and you can ask for the pressure, positioning or treatment to be adjusted at any time.
Yes. Massage can be booked completely independently of our other services.
Yes, subject to appointment availability.
If you are combining massage with Sauna & Ice, please allow enough time to cool down, shower and rehydrate before your massage.
If you would like to combine several Equilibrium experiences in one visit, please ask us and we can help you plan the timings.
Wear comfortable clothing that is easy to change in and out of.
Everything required for your massage treatment will be provided.
Breathwork is a guided practice using simple breathing techniques to support relaxation, focus, nervous system regulation and recovery. Sessions may be seated or lying down.
Yes. No experience is needed. If you are pregnant, have a heart or respiratory condition, experience fainting, panic attacks or seizures, or are unsure whether breathwork is suitable, please contact us before booking.
Equilibrium works with Vitall to provide access to a range of private blood tests designed to offer insight into different aspects of your health and wellbeing.
Testing can cover areas such as general health, vitamins and minerals, hormones and menopause, thyroid function, cholesterol and cardiovascular markers, blood sugar and other wellbeing-related biomarkers.
Your first step is a FREE Blood Testing Consultation with Equilibrium’s NMC-registered nurse.
Yes.
Your initial Blood Testing Consultation with Equilibrium’s NMC-registered nurse is completely FREE, with no obligation to purchase a test afterwards.
It gives you the opportunity to talk through what you would like to understand before deciding whether private blood testing could be a useful next step.
No.
While your initial consultation is free, blood testing through Equilibrium is a private, chargeable service and is separate from blood testing provided through the NHS.
If you choose to proceed, you will pay for the blood test and testing service selected. Prices vary depending on the test and biomarkers being analysed.
Alternative Tasso blood-collection kits may also be available for eligible tests at an additional charge.
We want blood testing to be purposeful and relevant to your wellbeing goals.
During your free consultation, Equilibrium’s NMC-registered nurse will discuss what you would like to understand and help you explore whether one of the available tests may provide useful wellbeing insight.
If your symptoms or concerns suggest that medical assessment, diagnosis or treatment would be more appropriate, we may recommend that you speak to your GP or another appropriately qualified healthcare professional instead.
There is no obligation to purchase a blood test following the consultation.
The Vitall blood-testing service is available to adults aged 18 and over.
Private testing may suit people who want greater insight into particular biomarkers, establish a baseline or monitor selected measures over time.
It is not a replacement for medical assessment or NHS care.
If you feel unwell, have unexplained symptoms or are concerned that you may have a medical condition, medical advice may be more appropriate than private wellbeing testing.
Most tests offered through Equilibrium use a finger-prick blood sample, collected at home using the instructions and equipment supplied in your Vitall testing kit.
For certain eligible tests, a Tasso capillary blood-collection kit may be available as an alternative. The Tasso device collects a small blood sample from the upper arm rather than using a conventional finger prick.
Tasso kits carry an additional charge and are not available for every test.
If your selected test requires a different collection method, we will explain this before it is ordered.
Following your free consultation, once you have selected and paid for your test, Equilibrium will order the appropriate testing kit on your behalf.
The kit is then sent directly to you.
Orders placed before 3pm Monday to Friday, excluding Bank Holidays, are normally dispatched the same day using Royal Mail 24.
Delivery will usually take approximately 1–2 days, although this is not guaranteed. Please allow up to seven days for delivery before a replacement kit is requested.
It depends on the test.
Some tests require fasting, collection at a particular time of day or other specific preparation. Hormone tests can also have timing requirements depending on the biomarkers being measured.
We will explain the key requirements for your selected test, and you should always follow the instructions supplied with your kit carefully.
Follow the instructions in your kit carefully to package and return your sample to the laboratory. Vitall advises that self-collected samples should be taken Monday to Friday, excluding Bank Holidays, and returned on the same day they are collected.
Your testing kit is valid for 90 days from delivery, so please collect and return your sample within that period.
Turnaround starts when the laboratory receives a testable sample, rather than when you post it.
For many of the tests available through Equilibrium, the expected turnaround is around 24 hours from receipt of a testable sample. This is an estimate rather than a guarantee, and some tests take longer. We will confirm the expected turnaround for your chosen test before you order.
Your sample is sent for professional laboratory analysis through Vitall. Vitall states that it works with UKAS-accredited laboratories for its testing.
Your results are then made available securely, showing the biomarkers tested and their relevant reference ranges.
No.
Blood testing through Equilibrium and Vitall is intended to provide health and wellbeing information and insight. A blood-test report does not constitute medical advice and should not replace appropriate medical assessment, diagnosis or treatment.
A result outside a reference range does not, on its own, diagnose a medical condition.
If you have concerning results, unexplained symptoms or concerns about your health, please speak to your GP or another appropriately qualified healthcare professional.
Yes.
You can share your results with your GP or another healthcare professional if you wish.
This can be useful where a result requires further interpretation, investigation or follow-up.
Your results can help you understand the biomarkers tested and consider areas that may be relevant to your wider wellbeing goals.
Where appropriate, Equilibrium can help you consider the information in the context of your broader wellbeing journey.
We do not diagnose medical conditions or prescribe medical treatment. If your results require medical interpretation, investigation or treatment, you should discuss them with your GP or another suitably qualified healthcare professional.
Your personal and health information is handled in accordance with applicable data-protection requirements.
Information required to arrange and analyse your test will be shared with Vitall and the laboratory and service providers involved in delivering the testing service.
Where Equilibrium is shown by Vitall as your referring provider during checkout and in your report dashboard, relevant personal data and test results may also be shared with Equilibrium as part of providing the service.
Please see the Equilibrium and Vitall Privacy Policies for further information about how personal information is collected, processed, stored and shared.
Our shop brings together a carefully selected range of products designed to support different areas of everyday wellbeing.
Our range includes selected products from brands including Ancient + Brave and Higher Nature, covering areas including collagen, vitamins and minerals, hydration, creatine, omega oils and other targeted nutritional supplements and wellbeing products.
Rather than overwhelming you with hundreds of options, we curate our range around Equilibrium’s seven wellbeing pillars:
Sleep · Energy · Immunity · Menopause · Age · Muscle · Mind
The range will continue to evolve as we discover new products, emerging science and brands that fit the Equilibrium approach.
Absolutely.
You don’t need to book a treatment or wellness session to visit the Equilibrium shop.
Come in during our normal opening hours to browse, ask questions or simply find out more about what we do.
Whether you know exactly what you’re looking for or don’t know where to start, you are equally welcome.
Yes.
Part of the reason we created a physical wellness shop was to make navigating products and ingredients feel simpler.
Our team can explain the products we stock, their key ingredients and intended use and help you explore products that may be relevant to your wellbeing goals.
Our guidance is designed to support informed product choice and general wellbeing. It is not medical advice.
If you have a medical condition, take prescription medication, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or are unsure whether a supplement is suitable for you, please speak to your GP, pharmacist or another appropriately qualified healthcare professional.
We don’t currently offer Equilibrium gift cards, although this is something we are considering for the future.
We may also introduce curated wellness bundles, bringing together complementary products around particular wellbeing goals, seasons or our seven wellbeing pillars.
Follow Equilibrium or ask us in store to find out what’s new.
Yes, subject to our returns policy.
For a change of mind, we offer a 14-day returns policy on products purchased in the Equilibrium shop, provided they are unused, unopened, in their original sealed packaging and you have proof of purchase.
Because many of our products are nutritional supplements and consumable wellbeing products, we cannot normally accept opened or unsealed products for a change-of-mind return.
If a product is faulty, damaged or not as described, please contact us. Your statutory consumer rights are not affected.
Refunds will normally be made using the original payment method.
Yes.
Alongside our core products, you may find seasonal collections, limited ranges, new launches and new brands appearing throughout the year.
Keeping the range curated allows us to introduce products we genuinely think are worth discovering rather than simply filling shelves with more choice.
Our retail range is currently available to purchase in the Equilibrium shop rather than online.
If there is a particular product you would like, contact us at [email protected] before visiting. We can check availability and, where possible, reserve it for you to collect.

If you have a heart or circulatory condition, blood-pressure problems, a history of fainting, epilepsy, significant respiratory disease, diabetes or another condition that could affect your response to heat or cold, please obtain appropriate medical advice before booking.
Heat and sudden cold exposure can affect cardiovascular function, and cold water can produce rapid changes in breathing, heart rate and blood pressure.
Please seek medical advice before booking if you have significant blood-pressure problems, particularly if your blood pressure is uncontrolled or you are prone to fainting or dizziness.
Please speak to your GP, consultant or other appropriately qualified healthcare professional before using Sauna & Ice.
